I have zero desire to buy something as a status symbol because I have nothing to prove. Has it occurred to you that the rich people on this thread look down on the bracelets because they have money to buy actual status symbols?

And to be clear, I’m not saying expensive = quality or better taste (and you’re definitely paying a brand premium), just pointing out a huge fallacy I see around here a lot. I suspect the perceived ubiquity of the Love bracelet is driven not by it’s price point, but by social media. You see them all the time in Instagram, which makes them oversaturated for sure. I hardly doubt you’re seeing it on your average mom driving a Toyota Highlander in the suburbs.

I work in a corporate job where we get bonuses and dropping it on a love bracelet, chanel bag, or rolex watch is like the starter pack lol. As a MC person in a MC neighborhood some of them are definitely buying it. Like the neverfull, it is not a wise financial decision but people do do it. These very overt and conspicuous displays of “wealth” are popular with people who aren’t rich because they are so easily recognized and are known to be expensive. Shoot, I make 65k and two of the women I work with have both the neverfull and a love bangle. They are nowhere near rich but are stretching their budgets so that they can have the luxury items every other woman on Instagram seems to have.

Add in the ridiculous amount of replicas out there and the design is all over the place. At this point it just reads mass produced and basic
