Everything else that people say is just motivated reasoning.

That article uses a lot of words to distract from and does not dispute the truth. Here is what the mayor said when she vetoed the bill.
“RCCA reduces sentences for illegally carrying guns on our streets.”
“The US Attorney and I have raised objections that the Council has substantially reduced penalties for robberies, carjacking and home invasion burglaries.”

Who do you think has more credibility here? The mayor and US Attorney or a hyper partisan liberal activist opinion writer who does not even deny these basic facts but only tries to obscure them through paragraphs of dreck?
Anyway, Frumin now owns every carjacking and act of gun violence in his Ward. What a way to start a career, by jumping off a ledge in a suicide pact.
Have you seen any of the videos by the YouTube personality, Scambaiter? He intercepts scam calls and tries to warn the victims that they are not talking to an Amazon rep or whatever, but rather a scammer. Some of the victims refuse his intervention, insist they are not being scammed, and continue to send thousands of dollars to the scammers. You kinda remind me of them. I'm sorry to inform you that tour ignorance is being exploited for profit by morally corrupt politicians and media personalities.

1) the new rules don't take place for two years, so the status quo remains in effect until then, so I suppose Mary Cheh owns those
2) you haven't read the new rules, which have been more than a decade in the making.

As grandmama says “He’s old enough to know better.” He lived here in the 80s and 90s. He knows how bad things can get in DC once families and businesses start to flee. The other council members came of age during the golden Obama years. They don’t know any better. But Frumin sure does. And now we wake up to a shooting in the heart of Cleveland Park. Complete lack of leadership on his part. Totally spineless. I would take Krukoff or Goulet over Frumin or at this point. I miss Mary.
You know crime is actually down in DC, right?

Yeah, I listened into his "listening session" on Saturday. He had all the time in the world for the Foxhallers who want to scuttle the new school at Hardy Park, but he politely told them he still supports it.
Me, too, but I'm glad he's slowly killing the bike lanes via death by a thousand cuts.
