I use them all the time when I need a full house and have never had a bad experience, but if I only needed a single room in a place where hotels exist, Airbnb wouldn't even cross my mind.
It just seems strange to me that all of a sudden people are realizing using an Airbnb as a hotel isn't as good as getting a hotel. "I rented a room in some random person's house instead of staying at the Motel 6 across the street and it wasn't as good as the hotel who have literally been doing this specific business for decades."
Whoda thunk?!
Totally agree. On vacation, I go to hotels for the anonymity and knowing that I don't have to do anything. Look at how many people order room service or eat in the hotel despite the high prices. They want convenience and not have to exude effort in anything.
With AirBnB, you have to mess around with finding your way in, reading the welcome binder, getting groceries, deal with glaring neighbors nextdoor, do the cleaning and other exit procedures.
