I agree with you, but it's a group of volunteers doing the counting. I believe they equal numbers of democrats and republicans must be part of the process. It might be really difficult getting enough republicans as volunteers, simply because there aren't all that many in Montgomery county.

They require on Democratc and one Republican or Independent to examine each ballot. It's a boring and thankless job.

Ok, but if they were so strapped for volunteers, where was the recruitment drive to get more? I heard nothing about lack of volunteers until after Election Day.

+1 look it's not an excuse for Hogan vetoing the bill to allow earlier counting, but honestly. Montgomery County is the only county that hasn't finished its first batch of mail in ballots or reported any provisional ballots. I volunteered in the past to be an election judge and heard nothing this time around. They have my info.

There have been no updates to the reported numbers since Tuesday so far as I can tell. What in the world are they doing?

They updated on Wednesday. If you go to 777vote.org they lay out the whole process.

Well they’ve been pretty clear. They had plenty for June. But lost a bunch when the election was pushed back to July.

which is why it was truly disgusting for those Trumpsters to threaten the volunteers who, as you noted, are both R and D.

Aren’t they still counting? If so, it’s misleading to post numbers with no explanation, in a thread with a misleading— or at least premature— title.

Yes they’re still counting. That’s the latest update as of tonight. I didn’t write the thread title.

Have these numbers changed since Monday evening?

They changed last night to this:
Blair 44,722
Elrich 44,577

What were they before that? That looks like what I recall seeing when I checked them on Tuesday morning.

blair increase just over 100

Monday evening Blair was ahead by 134. He is currently ahead by 145.

I'm happy to hear this. MoCo doesn't appeal to me, but it would be sad to watch the further decline from a distance if Elrich got another term. At least MoCo could tread water with Blair.

I wonder why someone like you would post about something that "doesn't appeal to you?"

There was a period where we spent more time in MoCo. Wouldn't want to live there now, but there are some good restaurants, and overall it would be better for the entire region if it didn't decline further.

Incompetent Democratic administrative state. Hard to argue for more state involvement in the economy when these Elrich cannot properly run basic and fundamental functions.
