If they are unable to pay a fine, they can elect voluntarily to be methodically/scientifically beaten with instruments (rubber hose, sticks, lengths of chain, etc) by a volunteer squad composed of victims of previous DUI crashes. They would not be beaten to death. Every effort would be made to ensure they do not die. But they will receive a beating that they will be reminded of daily, for the rest of their lives.
I think that’s pretty fair. And generous, too.

Also if I'm going 70 and after you tailgate annoyingly and I then move into a clear center lane, don't start going 71 mph, hit the gas pal!
I swear afternoon Eastbound ICC drivers are the absolute worst. We're going to get speed cams out there and won't be my fault.
LOL, the rules of the road don't apply to me, so I force people to tailgate me, thus risking bodily harm to both of us. Because I shouldn't have to move over if I don't wanna!
This explains the slow people in the left lane. I always wondered what they were thinking. I regularly drive 64W from Richmond to Charlottesville, and people camp out in the left lane going the speed limit all the time. They literally do not understand the rules of the road. I drive over the speed limit, but if there's a clear stretch, I move into the right lane. It slows all of us down for me to presume that whatever speed I'm going is the fastest anyone shall be allowed to go.
#1 reason why VA drivers are the worst.
Oh so going 80-85 in a 65 is “following the rules of the road”?

Are speed limits rules of the road? And I'm not advocating everyone go exactly the speed limit but the idea that the left lane is only for passing goes out the window once traffic volume reaches a certain point. And excessive lane changing greatly increases accident liklihood.

I religiously use our cars' smart cruise control nearly every time I'm in the car and set it to the precise speed limit. One thing I've learned is people who constantly drive over the limit seem to be mentally unhinged. It is just unreal the amount of crazy tailgaters and reckless drivers triggered by me driving the exact speed limit.

For the love of god, pull your car up closer to the intersection. You know that thick white line *before* a crosswalk? You should NOT be able to see it. That's where the front of your car should be. So may cars park like 8 feet from the line so they can see it--which is exactly what NOT to do. It wastes space, and it waste everyone's time - since you may be far too back to trigger the light's sensor. It is called a "stop line" - it is not a "so I can see that line" line. PULL UP AND MOVE FORWARD.
