+1000. She definitely has a strong bias towards appointing Reid and declaring "mission accomplished."
And I get how Reid might seem qualified, depending on what boxes you think you need to check. I happen to think she'd be a disaster because she's clearly heavily invested in "equity" and "anti-racist" initiatives that rely heavily on babble and reject the idea of academic merit, and has no experience with a large school system that has the day-to-day operating challenges that FCPS faces (and Brabrand mostly ignored for the last five years).
If she were to step aside, and FCPS were to go back to the drawing board, that would be far preferable to hiring someone who's not right for the job simply because they have a timeline.

Do tell - and be sure to dispense with the euphemisms so it’s clear you’re implying that they only cared about a Black woman getting the job and their detailed, stated concerns that Reid had no relevant experience in a large school district like FCPS were just a pretext.

Yes, why dreadful? She was named superintendent of the year by EdWeek. I think this is just part of the campaign by those trying to attack public education. It doesn’t matter what schools do, this right wing campaign will attack them since dismantling public education is the goal.

The NAACP was in the wrong on its own since it was throwing a tantrum because it didn’t get a seat on the panel. Their action was totally irresponsible and horrible.

I just don't know what they said. The cat is out of the bag, so I am not sure what the point was, other than to show they did something. Frankly I think is sucks that whoever was on the panel that violated confidentiality did what they did and that the NAACP decided to do their thing.
