he wants a tame woman that he can control

I liked the unusual angle, I liked both the main characters. I thought their chemistry was much better than Daphne and what’s his name. Those two were so awkward to watch. Season 2 was light, fun, sexy and addicting.
Ewwww. There was no chemistry. Season 2 was dreadful. Daphne and Simon were loads sexier and more fun. Kate and Anthony were just an awful combo. Even looked bad together.
+1 I said this before the season even started. Kate doesn’t match with Anthony at all. Horrible casting.
What are you people talking about? How should they “match?” They’re two hot young people. They look great together. I don’t find the romance compelling but it’s not because of how they look.
I agree, and think they matched just fine.
Eh, they don't look good together. She is broader in the shoulders then he is. He is too tiny for her.
Yes! She looks like a horse!
+1 Horse face.

I read all the books several times. Loved most of them. The first season was good and close enough to original story and realities regency period to be believable and yet updated and modern enough to add fun and sparkle.
Season 2 story line changes and the complete disregard for all Regency behavioral norms ruins the tale completely. The Indian angle is awful and makes no sense. The changes to the Pall Mall game made me want to cry - one if the funniest parts of the book(s) and they left those particular moves out except for a couple. Just an utterly disappointment.
Oh and Eloise is portrayed horrifically. She is dressed and coiffed as ugly as possible. Her “rebellion” is trite and far too modern. Eloise’s book was a bit dry but they have made her thoroughly unlikable in the tv show.
I have to agree.

I also really liked the actresses who played Lady Danbury, Lady Bridgerton, and the Queen. Maybe because I just turned 50, but I notice more "mature" actresses now and I thought they each had a lot more to work with this season. That one scene with the Queen brought tears to my eyes, as did a few scenes with Lady Bridgerton and Anthony.
