I read the article and it literally says that the chamber is not releasing the video because it was not pre-agreed as a condition of participation and that the other candidates are using that fact to “gin up controversy”. So yeah, seems a typical DC manufactured “controversy” akin to the “outrage” at Cheh’s comments about voucher holders - which was an example used in the article.

"Hugely successful" overstates the case. I will concede that some charters are a lifeline for families whose neighborhood school is unsatisfactory. There are some good charters but overall they aren't any better than DCPS.
