+1, DH sent me a box of expensive chocolate when he was deployed during the blizzard of 2016. He asked later if I had shared with the kids (6 & 4 at the time) and I said "Hell NO!", I threw some M&Ms at them and they were content. They don't need my $$ chocolates.

Buy one for yourself, buy one for them to share. If they didn’t know about it, it’s not a big deal. But since they do and it’s not like alcohol they can’t have, then yes, it’s weird that you don’t want them to have any.

Yes. Most of us raid the Halloween candy without asking. Come on, you never went in for some after they went to bed?
No I don’t. I ask them if I can have some and I don’t take their favorites. Even though it’s February and they each have a bin in the pantry. I also don’t steal food out of the fridge at work and when I had roommates I didn’t eat their food.
