Where are you seeing that the survey is asking "personal questions about background"?
At the end of the survey it asks for ethnic / cultural identification. I’m sure all the fourth graders are aware of their ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Shouldn’t these surveys just be sent out to white students since they are the only ones who can be racist?
