Well incarceration has its limits.
Yes, living in a state with a POS Trumphumper governor and his idiotic supporters does feel like jail.

I guess we will start the very long process of sending all of the marriage and death certificates to the state department.
Why didn't you do this all along?
Because she didn’t need it to get a license before she stopped driving.

What would prevent a random person from voting over and over again through the day? Also just about everything else requires a photo id and you are good with those things. Here are examples of things that require a photo id:
cities such as NYC and DC require a photo id along with a vaccine card to enter a restaurant.
board an airplane
adopt a pet
apply for a fishing license
But how dare we ask for a ID to vote??? Really??? Would you let someone without a verified identity into your child's school? But it is OK for someone without a verified identity to help elect the leader of the free world???? huh???
Do these theoretical voter fraud criminals have a stack of utility bills from registered voters who aren’t voting?![]()
You don’t need a valid drivers license to adopt a pet. Expired is fine.
And expired license (<1 year expired) works for flights:
https://www.tsa.gov/coronavirus
And you may not even need a photo ID to fly:
“In the event you arrive at the airport without valid identification, because it is lost or at home, you may still be allowed to fly. The TSA officer may ask you to complete an identity verification process which includes collecting information such as your name, current address, and other personal information to confirm your identity.”
Sure - but you can also use an expired ID to vote. So what's the problem again?
They are proposing to NOT allow expired ID. Did you read the OP?

Old folks, particularly the white rural ones, also tend to vote Republican. Make it hard for them to renew their licenses by closing down rural locations and limiting hours, and plow efforts into getting your more urban base to the DMV, and it could be to the Dem’s political advantage.
Dems aren't trying to cheat.
Dems think we should be making it easier for eligible voters to vote rather than adding unnecessary burdens.
Uh, sure. Riiiiight. OK.

And anyone else with an expired license.
Such as my MIL, who does not need a valid driver's license, as she doesn't drive anymore, and who hasn't replaced it with an ID card because she is disabled and pretty much housebound.
She can have a mobile notary come to her home and apply for an ID
