It’s a cute phrase, but many of those unvaccinated people have already acquired natural immunity through prior infection, which has been shown to be as good (if not better than) vaccine-induced protection.

Every day I talk with more and people who are fully “vaccinated and boosted” and have gotten COVID.

FFS. if there's not a fox-explainer telling them what to think, they learn nothing.

I'm also not sure if any studies have specifically linked mask-wearing with teen suicidality. I can rationally understand shut-downs and virtual learning being a major depressor for many teens, but are masks that much of a hardship? I also recognize that with COVID possibly reaching the endemic stage, it may be time to move on from mask mandates. I didn't even consider this before January 2022.

Well… they were also the 1st to shut down in 3020, 2 weeks before everybody else, since students just came back from travel abroad.

I'm a bit confused by the statement that the Heights was the "only school in our area that opened at full capacity." What about all of the parochials, Brookewood, Avalon, any others? How on earth was the Heights the "only school"? Also, full capacity at the Heights is how many students per classroom? I'm also confused by the statement that the Heights was the first to go back to school. Um, my parochial started up in Fall 2020. Doesn't it count? Does the Heights start extra early in mid-August or something?

I like a lot about the Heights; I just don't understand the hyperbole.

And for those adults who are irrationally terrified of a virus with a 99.99%+ survival rate, who think that forcing others to wear masks or get vaccinated is needed to protect themselves, regardless of the harm to children … the Heights is proof that this isn’t the case either.

Gee it’s almost as if mask mandates have no discernible impact on COVID transmission or outcomes … go figure.

Way to pivot rather than have the stones to admit when you are wrong. Heights Men!

Wrong about what? The Heights is a shining example of how masks are NOT required to have a safe school.

That’s like comparing Rural Maryland to a city atmosphere. Apples/oranges

The # of teachers that died in Fla is criminal.

The increase in the number of childhood suicides and incidents of self-harm in the wake of the shutdowns and mask mandates is criminal:

Here suicides down during pandemic .. you can find any news article to support your ridiculous views if you google it

You are citing statistics for ALL individuals. It is well documented and reported that suicide and suicide attempts among teenagers rose substantially.

Suicide rates in kids that wear mask and and have online learning vs those that don’t and go to school are not different.

I haven’t seen a study of that - have you?

I would very much consider this another plus for the school. They saw the virus first and it’s risks, so shut down first. Then went back to school first, and were the first to prove that in-person learning was safe.

Everybody interprets facts in whatever way that supports their stance. I just posted a fact. It’s more helpful to post facts than opinion.
