It would be nice if they cared more about the kids experience and fairness then bizarre Covid rules... The presentation to the coaches last night said kids needed to put their masks on *during time outs*. I mean come the eff on. That's just Covid theater. Why wear masks on the bench when they take them off in the game? What's the logic?

Someone really needs to let FCYBL know about this. Might prompt them to be a little more serious about enforcing their own rules. If not, it's just another case of adults taking over a youth sports league and driving kids out of sport altogether.

No kid is going to want to get pounded 60-4 while knowing that it's because adults who were in charge of the league couldn't be bothered to enforce a few simple rules. Not many positive life lessons being taught that way.

Kind of wondering that the $25 was for. That was new this year. Just a money grab, I guess.

Believe they had it last year as well. Advertised as "health/cleaning" fee due to Covid.

Wait til the 80-10 scores start rolling in, I guess. Why have any rules at all if they don't care if the rules are followed?

Yes, we did too in previous years but what everyone is saying is that no one is being asked for the SIS documents this year, which means FCYBL isn't checking rosters or verifying compliance with the rules.

Exactly - some coaches collected information out of habit from previous years, some started the process but then stopped it when FCYBL said they weren't requiring etc. Agree asking coaches during the season to "protest" games puts a lot on those coaches without much in the way of proof.

In the meantime, FCYBL DOES require players to register (thought not sure anything would prevent fake addresses). But there's at least a simple SQL query that they could do on their own database if notified.

There was a meeting last night with coaches and all they talked about was Covid. The guy who runs the league is obsessed with Covid.

Agree that the FCYBL needs to be notified. Also the commissioners of the teams in question.

So did anyone complain to FCYBL or send them this thread?

I'm cheap. Why did we have to pay a $25 "registration" fee per kid if the league wasn't going to verify any registrations?

Just chiming in that we haven't provided any address info to our league.

They won't know and the kid will get to play on two teams all winter, as long as he is "sick" the day the two teams play each other, no one will know.
