Mom is 74 and yes. It used to just annoy me, but now that I have kids, I just cut her off when she starts down that path. There are so many negative messages out there, my kids don't need to hear them from their own family members.

It was not only normal but expected to dissect everyone's physical appearance - but especially women - for Boomers and most of Gen X. I'm 60 and have managed to mostly train myself out of this, but I do occasionally slip. It's hard to stop doing something that was so ingrained in us until just a few years ago.

It was/is my dad who does this.
