Then you’re part of the problem. You cut checks like everyone else. Congrats for participating and keeping alive the system you resent. Yawn
You must be making money from this con. Awareness of the flaws is not the same as resentment. It is easily possible to use a brain can to imagine ways that would benefit more players. Of course that means less benefit to the ones cashing in all this.
In any case families making use of this product should under what it is and what it is not. And I have seen it do some crappy things to players that are not aware of how this is set up and how to use it to their advantage and avoid being used. Always follow the money.
You claim to have voluntarily participated. Therefore, you were not used. You made a choice.
I have been through this successfully with multiple players. What are you not understanding? How much experience do you have with ecnl and it's ilk? It can't be very much if you have never seen unfortunate or avoidable bad outcomes for players. Have you no useful advice to offer the consumers that buy it about how it works and what not to do?
Don't be suckers folks. Take a good hard look at your player and at how this works and make good decisions. Learn to separate fact from fiction and nonsense from reality. And if anyone implies that the system is just great and there are no pitfalls to look out for......seek advice elsewhere.
So now after you have sent multiple players through the system you are all ready to reform it now that you are essentially done benefiting from it. Got it.
So you have nothing to offer anyone on here but snarky negative nonsense. Got it.

Exactly. ECNL is not for your player if you don't have the bank account to buy it. Stick with local leagues and school ball if that is all you can afford.
I don’t have the bank account to drive a Lexus so I don’t. I don’t have the bank account to take the family to Europe so I don’t. But I don’t complain that Lexus charges too much for their cars. ECNL soccer is a luxury item for kids. I can choose to spend my dollars on that, or not, or spend on other items like vacations or housing or iPhones which others might consider a waste of money. I don’t get why people feel a product should cost less just because they can’t afford it? You are not entitled to be able to have everything. I suppose it would be nice if everyone made the same amount of money and could afford anything they wanted but it will never be that way
Buy a Lexus and enjoy. You don't need to be a great driver to buy a Lexus but you need to have the cash. It is a luxury product like lots of others.
