Why would you be loving this? Seriously. If the company fails there are hundreds of thousands (millions?) who will be devastated at losing the machine and a ton of small investors holding their hat. What kind of person would revel in that?

Because this company has no hope and I love making money

You sound like a TERRIBLE person to rejoice in the fact that the pain of many will result in a few more bucks in your pocket Scrooge McDuck.

Because people were foolish enough to believe an exercise equipment company was deserving of a 20+ P/E ratio. How many times over the years have you drove past those brick and mortar exercise equipment stores that were going out of business - this industry has, never, been successful and to try and sell it as some hip tech company was laughable.

The giddiness over the idea or possibility that Peloton is going out of business is so strange to me.

For those that are happy about this, please explain why.

You’ll have to drive to Pelaton headquarters and meet with Blake in membership in order to cancel?

this cracked me up!

Umm, they're laying off 41% of their sales personnel.

The Tread + is not coming back in 2022 and will likely not come back at all. I ordered was thinking of the Tread, but now I’m worried there will be no customer support for it. I’m a happy app user and hope that they keep producing high quality content.

There may be opportunity for somebody to view the bike as a platform and just sell the service (the workouts on the screen), but that's a market that will never grow, since no new bikes will be produced

If they have a fire sale, I'll buy a Tread and jailbreak it happily. Only wanted it for Netflix in the first place.

DP - how do you do that? I tried & failed but if you have a tutorial...

Planning to hire someone. I imagine they could figure out replacing it permanently. There are already detached screens for sale on eBay.

I found I always worked out more when forced to leave the house. When I had a treadmill, bike, and rowing machine in my house, I made excused not to work out. I'd see something that needed done and opt for that instead.

Carving time out of my day to go to an outside gym means I get the workout done.

When the pandemic hit and gyms closed, I bought cheaper models of a bike and treadmill again and got into light running. When gyms started opening, I donated both.

See, I’m the opposite. I don’t like to leave the house and hate exercising in front of other people. I have never joined a gym. I use the Peloton a lot.

But even if what you state is true, can’t you just carve time out of the day at home? Makes no sense to me.
