+1. I cannot believe that the Dems have the gall to adjourn the House, not to mention leave Washington altogether, while the shutdown crisis remains unresolved. They should be in Washington, negotiating around the clock. Say what you will, but the President was in Washington on Christmas Day, New Year’s, and this holiday weekend ready to talk. Where have Chuck and Nancy been? Hawaii, San Francisco, New York, and everywhere but at their posts. I hope furloughed feds are taking notice!

Please explain to us how the President shows he cares about furloughed federal workers. Pelosi and the House have passed several funding bills. Why won't Trump sign them?
Just yesterday, he offered to provide added certainty to desperate Dreamers (who could lose their protections any day when the Supreme Court rules on their very precarious situation), along with holders of TPS, while at the same time securing our border and allowing furloughed federal workers to return to work. Yet Speaker Pelosi rejected that offer even before it was made. So she has let down the Dreamers, the holders of TPS, federal workers, and Americans in general, and for what? Just to stick it to the President. How petty!
The Supreme Court passed on DACA. Precariousness is better than deportation in 3 years.
Trump either knew this when he offered or didn't. Do you think Pelosi doesn't?

Trump offered up DACA amnesty against his conservative base. That’s how you negotiate— he’s offering something to the Dems, yet they won’t dare to go against their left wing base.

Trump is playing hardball and made starting offer on DACA, against wishes of his conservative base.
