You go ahead and celebrate electing a self-righteous pedophile to Congress. Seems about right given the conservative track record.

I am not celebrating anything. I am telling you that in Alabama there is a widespread suspicion of the MSM and their motivations. They don't believe information from outfits like the Washington Post, the NYT, CNN, etc because they view them as being totally biased.

If anything they will view this as being politically motivated and will come out in support of Moore with greater enthusiasm than before this news broke. It is the reality of the politics of Alabama whether liberals like it or not.

However, if additional credible information does surface then the situation may change.

I think that unless TPTB get him taken off the ballot and delay the election, he's going to be elected no matter what.

The Republicans have to live with the party they've created. This does not make it seem as if they are serious people.

And, no, it would not be at all unusual for a guy in a small town to go to high school football games. It would be perfectly normal--that's where most of the town would be on a Friday night.

I’m guessing 7th and 8th graders might be a little intimidated to accuse the District Attorney of sexual abuse.

And where was it stated that 7th and 8th graders had anything to do with this?? Lie much?

14 YEAR OLD. Are grade levels different in Russia?

Russia, again? How stale can you get? Where I'm from, 12 and 13 year olds are in 7th and 8th grade. The 14 year old was a freshman, you dolt.

Generally, kids are 12-13 in 7th, 13-14 in 8th and 14-15 in 9th. My DD is in 8th, and her friends are 13 and just turned 14, or about to turn 14.

But I’m not sure why 8th grade vs 9th grade matters here. Both are skeevy.

+1

And it's amazing that where PP is from, no one has a birthday in the first six months of the year. Or else everyone enters kindergarten at age 4. Must be Lake Wobbegon where everyone is above average.

And yet the stakes have been high in many elections. I mean, if the Wa Po is capable of convincing 4 women and 30+ witnesses to tell and confirm stories about Moore's inclination towards young girls, why not do it for other elections that are equally "high stake"?

Come on now, we need more proof of the WaPo's nefarious intentions here.

All you people who are questioning the timing—seems like you want to prevent Alabamans from hearing about Roy Moore before they send him to the senate for 6 years. You make everything sound like a conspiracy but basically you want to keep Alabama residents from hearing any negative news.

Fun Fact: Moore has run for office 4 times with plenty of oppo research.

Another Fun Fact: Alabama doesn't like outsiders telling them what to do.

If you believe Moore’s denials, you have to believe that four of these women, with no evidence that they know each other or ever met each other, all decided to lie when the Washington Post showed up at their door, that they all spontaneously made up a story that they were able to recount in detail in multiple retellings to reporters over a period of weeks, and they all chose to make up similar stories about Moore’s sexual pursuit.

The angry statement from Moore called the women’s claims “completely false” but so far, no one has been able to point to any contradictions, incongruence, or demonstrably false claims within their stories. For example, if events did not occur as they describe, did Moore know these women? Did he ever interact with them? Was he not in the time and place they described in their stories? Did he ever have an interaction with them that would provide a potential motive to make a false accusation against them? Did he ever rule against any of them, or a member if their families or a friend in his years as a judge? If a part of the accusers’ story does not check out, it changes the calculus of this story. But so far we just have a blanket denial with no further details.

A variation of Occam’s Razor declares that the simplest explanation is the most likely one. You can either believe that Moore behaved in the way the women describe – accounting for any faults of memory in the forty or so years since then – or you can believe that they all chose, spontaneously, to partake in an elaborate conspiracy to destroy his reputation, an effort that they no doubt understood would lead to making enemies.

And what do these women gain from telling their Roy Moore stories? Money? No. Fame in a good way? No. There are zero benefits. Here's the creep's twitter: https://twitter.com/MooreSenate?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

That fool went to West Point and was stationed in Georgia and Germany before being in the military police in Vietnam where he harassed the soldiers forced to be in that ridiculous war. He was a frickin Lt Neidermyer from Animal House. 1978 film wildly popular. Granted Moore got college paid for but did that mean he had to harass and possible cause death/maiming of persons forced to go to Vietnam? Subordinates or even peers might have considered harming him?

You have no way of knowing what they gain. I do know that one of the accusers is a Dem activist - she's already been exposed. My guess is this was pre-planned between she and the WaPo.

What turned her into a "Dem activist"? Perhaps it was having a skeevy man twice her age make moves on her when she was a teenager. And then he went into politics. Good for her for trying to bring him down.

Vote for me because I was within my rights.

Paid for by Moore for Senate

“Within your rights” =/= having the character and good judgment necessary to become a Senator

Let's be honest here.

That is preposterous. Even with these revelations, the Dems have no chance of winning. This isn't a close election where revelations about Moore's predatory behavior will make an actual difference.

Your Democrat guy was 11 points behind.

Right - which is what I was saying. My "Democrat guy" has no hope of winning this even with the revelations about Moore. Thus there is no direct political gain for us here. It's Republicans who hope to change the election now - get Moore off the ticket and replace him with someone who isn't accused of taking off his clothes in front of a 14 year old and having her touch his erect penis.
