Most likely, your EX wouldn't see the past the same way you did.
The article makes it sound very cruel that the meals were paid "dutch" -- i.e. each one pays for their own. (ooo... that Gerry sure is a moocher!). It makes it sound cruel that both parties were going to pay a share of the housing costs. (he's so selfish!)
She had to pack all of her stuff BY HERSELF and fell down the steps! Well... did you help your ex- pack up his/her stuff when you broke up? Of course not.
When you separate the details from the smear, there's not a lot here. Basically, this woman may have been a former girlfriend. It didn't work out. They broke up. She even says that he helped her get to her car and said that he wished it hasn't turned out that way. That's not exactly what a callous bastard says when he is kicking someone to the curb, is it?
I wonder if this media publication is putting this hit piece out the day before the finale, as a desperate attempt to boost their clicks and advertising revenue.
It’s not going Dutch that’s the issue, it’s him needing to pretend that he was paying.
It’s also not that he dated or lived with anyone but that he claimed not to.
As for my exes, I know that one would say I broke up with him coldly. It was my first relationship at 19 and I actually still feel bad about it thirty years later. The rest were all mutual or they decided they weren’t into me anymore. I’m still in touch with most of them.

I mean, we don't know what is real or not, but that part of the story doesn't ring true to me. I don't think you can be as "sensitive" as Gerry presents on GB and be freaked out about 10 lbs.
As for the rest of it, who knows. Part of a story can be true, while the context can be misleading. Maybe he did expect the person (if it happened at all) to pay a portion of the mortgage. Maybe he said "let's split the expenses..."
I don't know. But, I don't take this dirt as truth until there is more proof. There have been other "stories" about Gerry that have been disproved. Like he had an affair at work and he's an alcoholic. Neither of which were true. So, just b/c someone says X and some media reports it, doesn't mean it is all true.
It's generally a good idea to hold off on judgment until you hear both sides or see actual proof.
My guess is that it was more than 10 pounds, and that it was a sensitive issue for him because his wife had gained so much weight (and was formerly skinny) and he didn't like it.

See what I mean? The same actions can be described in a horrible way or a perfectly normal way!
They went dutch except on special occasions when he would take her out. From the article, they make it sound cheapskate-ish. But, another way to read it is that they weren't financially dependent on each othet, but Gerry was the more generous of the two!

Leslie has no money I think she’s just been an average person but Teresa is she’s old she’s vulnerable and if he was as unkind as I think he is to lead her on now that he realizes she was a professional and has a nice bank account he will show who he really is
what kind of a man has a woman move in with him and make her pay half the rent
are you kidding me
she should’ve charged him every time she had to go to bed with him Instead
Who wants a man like that?
nobody !

I mentioned this a couple of weeks ago, that he was attracted to Teresa's financial smarts. He's a 72 yo with no pension, living on SS and Medicare. Someone who can bring in some money is very attractive.
