If Twitter manages to survive, I'll be pleasantly surprised and impressed. This is so not Musk's wheelhouse, and he was a fool to think he could talk to people at Twitter like he talks to engineers at Tesla or Space X. Completely different goals. At Twitter, the culture IS the goal, so obviously current employees are going to be miserable if their relaxed culture is killed in one fell swoop. They're not building a better car or better rocket. That's hard for Musk to understand, since he has Asperger's.
Tesla work culture is so completely effed up I can’t even explain it. The long timers who work there all have Stockholm syndrome and practically start glitching when presented with any evidence that maybe Elon isn’t a life altering, light bearing guru. There’s so much toxicity and stupidity. It’s unreal.
But they had time to slowly boil in it. The twitter people just got dumped in the boiling water and many have rationally chosen self preservation over flogging Elon’s ego.
