At Twitter, the culture IS the goal, so obviously current employees are going to be miserable if their relaxed culture is killed in one fell swoop. They're not building a better car or better rocket. That's hard for Musk to understand, since he has Asperger's.
Tesla work culture is so completely effed up I can’t even explain it. The long timers who work there all have Stockholm syndrome and practically start glitching when presented with any evidence that maybe Elon isn’t a life altering, light bearing guru. There’s so much toxicity and stupidity. It’s unreal.
But they had time to slowly boil in it. The twitter people just got dumped in the boiling water and many have rationally chosen self preservation over flogging Elon’s ego.

That isn't 75% of the workforce, that is 75% of what was left after last week's purge of half the workforce.
