Zero proof of the bolded.

Meanwhile DOGE has scraped the financial information for every American. The blue states are trying to protect private data. Pretty simple.

DOGE uploaded everyone's SSN info to an unsecure cloud and MAGAs don't even care. Their hypocrisy is astounding.

Oooh, I have some ideas...

Provide sex education in schools
Provide contraceptives
Make abortion save and legal.

- “I’m buying store brands and cutting coupons.”

Millions of people discovered adulting overnight.

Jesus would teach a person who is able to support themselves not to be on welfare their whole lives, unlike the intergenerational welfare we have now.

You are not "owed".

I believe his primary commandment was to love.

Not making people who are perfectly capable of independence, dependent on others is love. Tough love, but love nonetheless.

It's a safety net. Most people are on it temporarily. This idea that the program is full of people who do not need it is not based in reality. Making people in need out to be lazy moochers isn't love, tough or otherwise.

Not really. Many, many are on it for years. They are a lot of exemptions that pretty much make it possible for anyone to be on it for years. If you have children under 14 (and keep having children) or take care of anyone, you could be on it for years. You can get waivers if you meet the 20 hr per week work requirement and stay on it for years as well.

Call your senators. Tell them to nuke the filibuster and then make the laws even stricter. No more soda or candy or junk. No more waivers. Stricter work requirements for people with kids. It can be done with 51 votes.

Moderate here. I’d actually support that, but the problem is that any senator that would support it also supports Trump, guns and national wide abortion bans. So instead I have to accept food stamp waste that I disagree with. Same with how I feel about illegal immigration.

It would be great if the GOP could put forward some sensible moderates that don’t cow tow to Trump and the crazies.

Republicans already tightened work requirements this summer.

They got rid of the exception for homeless veterans, former foster youth and veterans.

People ages 18 to 64 have to work (previously 18 to 54)

Families with kids 14 and older have to work. (Previously had to work if kids were 18 or older)

No more coverage for refugees or other legally present immigrants.

Rs did that with 51 votes in senate. Funny how they didn’t touch what snap recipients could buy.

Should read homeless, veterans and recent foster youth. No more moochers!

SNAP is not an incentive. Try living off of it for a month. I dare you.

You talk like someone who hasn’t had a day of struggle in her life. When mommy and daddy die, and you don’t get a penny because it’s been seized by the state, you’ll see. This is all so predictable. We have very reasonable programs to provide the bare minimum to people who cannot do better for themselves. Take that away and watch what happens.

According to recent data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for Fiscal Year 2023, approximately less than 11% of SNAP recipients were foreign-born.
The specific breakdown of foreign-born recipients is as follows:
6.2% were naturalized citizens.
1.1% were refugees.
3.3% were other noncitizens, including lawful permanent residents and other eligible noncitizens.
Conversely, nearly 90% of all SNAP recipients are U.S.-born citizens.

Only 28% of SNAP households had any earned income at all in 2023.

These people are moochers.

25% of Haitian immigrants are on SNAP.
45% of Afghan immigrants are on SNAP.
52% of Senegalese immigrants are on SNAP.

DC is redistributing wealth by stealing from productive Americans to subsidize foreigners and their way of life. That is unacceptable and America Last.

These people are already in the USA. Nearly all are documented. Many are working.

In any case, you're in favor of people going hungry?

no, they should not go hungry

but we need to be smarter as a country. stop importing millions of desperate people from "shithole" countries. that is common sense. in spite of the nonsense Democrats say.

Why are they desperate and why are their countries shitholes? Could it have anything to do with western colonialism robbing them of their wealth and resources, as well as stoking centuries of divisions? Could it be centuries of centuries of industrial pollution now ruining the climate and making their environments unlivable?

You break it, you buy it. Expect more to come. And eventually they won't be asking nicely at the borders.

We used to be a colony too. But we fixed it ourselves. Established 1776. It can be done. You’re welcome, world.

France would like a word.
