THere's nothing wrong with going on spring break with friends even if you have a boy/girl friend. So ridiculous. That said, it is clear that there was at a minimum some flirtation and/or intent to cheat going on based on their behavior and the fact that they chose to stay at the beach. His story does not seem suspicious though. I can definitely see the 2 of them jumping in the ocean, getting caught in a wave, him getting out, throwing up, and passing out. He probably doesn't remember all the details. The one thing I would want to know though is if he was taking a selfie or if he was on video with someone while they were walking. If on video, I wonder with who. Also, possible that he was paid off by someone as part of a traficking/kidnapping effort but I doubt it.

Yep. We swam at night completely trashed at Panama City Beach in 1998. My friend left "Club La Vela" (tagline "Party with Thousands!") completely wasted with an equally wasted guy..to ride without a helmet on his motorcycle. They hooked up at his trailer and she showed up after noon the next day. People do incredibly stupid stuff drunk on spring break.

And others went on alternative spring breaks. the spring break you and several posters have written here is not the only type of spring break experiences of college students et al

Alternative spring breaks are "alternative" because they are NOT the norm. In our culture, the common understanding for college spring breaks are for drinking and partying. The behavior of these kids was totally normal. She was falling down- drunk and drowned.

My college kid is on spring break with her friend here on the East Coast and they are going out exploring the town.
When I was in college, not everyone did the drinking and partying over spring break thing. No one in my circle did.
When I was in grad school, some people did organize a group plane flight to check out the Pyramids in Egypt.

These tangents are intended to obfuscate, right? I mean no rational sane person reminisces about their college days on a thread about a young woman from our community who is in danger or dead. Right?
