Maybe. We don't know. I say this as a Republican assuming there will be a massive inquiry into the all of this.

It’s ridiculous to say it was planned and just makes you sound unreasonable (I had to soften the word). But one does wonder why he took a moment to raise his fist and pose for a photo after just being shot—and why the SS let him. They left his head and torso exposed for a few seconds while the photo was taken.

So Trump could show his supporters he was alive.

The shooter donated to Act Blue on the day Biden was inaugurated.

Yeah, but he registered as a Republican after that.

So he could vote against Trump in the primary.

He registered as a republican in September 2021. The PA primary was April 2024, 2 and a half years later. Seems very unlikely.

For the record, there are Republicans who don't support Trump. At some point we may stop calling ourselves Republican, shift to Independent, form a new party - but I'm a Republican who voted for Mitt Romney (and still think he would have been one of our greatest Presidents) and did not vote for Trump.

Why do yall care about his registration? He shot Trump. That seems pretty telling about his beliefs.

That said, he is possibly a nut and voices told him he had to do it, for all we know.

It's good he did it. People recover from violence related trauma easier when they see immediate examples of strength and bravery. If he stayed down, the national response, especially on the right, would have been much more enraged. This way, people feel resolute and galvanized, versus attacked and cornered. You probably want to see him cower, but it wouldn't be good for the national reaction.

You can clearly hear the SS saying the shooter has been neutralized before he gets up. You can also hear him asking for his shoes.

I don’t care what you think of his politics—former President Donald Trump just struck one of the most iconic poses in U.S. history.

His fist-raised salute of defiance is surely enough to win him re-election to the White House. Especially if the American people have to choose between a doddering incumbent and the man who got to his feet seconds after an assassination attempt and punched the air with blood trickling down his face.

Make no mistake, the image of a bloodstained Trump standing with one arm aloft instantly takes its place alongside the greatest photos in American history.

He was pulled to his feet by the Secret Service. Let's not pretend that a 300-pound 77-year old sprung to his feet. BTW, did he get his shoe back? The audio will also be iconic.

Cope.

Not cope. Trump may get re-elected, he'll do his best to ruin the country for four years (to the extent he survives old age), and then he'll finally be out of the picture for good. The clock is thankfully ticking on him.

He refused to leave after his first 4 years. What makes you think he’d leave after 4 years if he were to get elected again? He’ll be a dictator and we’ll never get rid of him.

He won't survive old age in his second term. This particular nightmare (Trump) is coming to an end, and the country will have to contend with the damage he leaves behind.

It is just a mass shooting event that took place at a political rally- why all the fuss? Thoughts and prayers and move along. We do this all the time. Welcome to America

I hate that people are saying the photos are iconic and symbolic of bravery by trump. To me I think of those poor SS agents who literally have to get between him and the next bullet and he would rather have his moment than listen to them. It to me symbolizes his selfishness and how our systems enable him.

I am glad he’s ok. I am a for gun control and against violence of all kinds. But this event was a loss of life for at least one innocent person and the reason it wasn’t worse was because of the actions of a group of highly trained professionals- not Trump.

You have no evidence that this was planned.

All news outlets are reporting that it was an assassination attempt.

Two people are dead and one injured.

Where is your evidence and citations that this was a planned stunt?

You realize that Trump only is alive because he moved his head, right?

photo by New York Times photographer Doug Mills shows the bullet flying just past Trump’s head, when a shooter attempted to assassinate him during Trump’s election rally in Pennsylvania.

He wasn't a kid he was an adult man, As for why he did what he did we will never truly know because he's no longer with us,

I hope this doesn't encourage more foolish and violent behavior.
