Yes, just formed this Spring. Bethesda based, formed by the people from the Jackals before they were sold to St James. Now there will be the St James FH Club and DMVPrime, two different teams.

Yes, and a few coaches including Beira moved from St J to Prime last month. That's what made the announcement more confusing. Hoping someone can weigh in with clarity.

In this case, the announcement was that she was going to head two club teams - St J (former Jackals) AND Prime which is the new club team based in the Bethesda area.

For anybody getting DMV Prime emails ... do you know what's going on? Jenna emailed an announcement yesterday that Beira was now head coach of St Johns FH (?!), and today sent a clarification email that Beira is going to be head coach of a high school team but still committed to Prime. I am so confused. Anybody know what's going on? How can she head coach St Johns club and Prime?

Right. So to critique ANY team for a loss against WC is irrelevant. Especially if you are not there to observe level of effort.

Correct, BC would have lost to WC just like everyone else. WC is on a different planet talent wise than all other clubs around the country. WC is strong at every position including their subs - they have no weaknesses. BC is really really strong at the top - they have 4 superstar players who all made the national team selection camp (and one who made the national team). They’ve got 2 UNC commits and 2 Duke commits. Those 4 girls are just as good as what WC puts out. The problem is that then there is a big drop-off. Whereas there is zero drop-off on WC - they’re all stars.

No, I am not. I think BC is strong. But had they met WC earlier in the tournament, they would have lost.

Agree with luck of the draw only to a certain extent. Keep in mind that Bull City beat Texas Pride in the semifinals. Texas Pride is widely considered the perennial second best club in the country behind WC. That’s a massive win for Bull City. Are you saying Hammers also would have beaten Texas Pride? Highly doubtful.

1) Bull City is a good club & the U19 team has some very talented girls. It was their first ever trip to NCCs at this age group. They had a great run. But only time will tell how they really stack up nationally as a club.
2) luck of the draw. At any tournament, luck comes into play. Whoever encounters WC in the crossovers is going to lose (often by a lot). Even if they could beat every other team. Had BC played WC earlier, they would have lost. Just like Hammers, just like Focus, etc.

Thank you. The fact that a relatively unknown club ( Hammers) kept the score within the same point differential as Bull City is quite amazing. Hammers as a club broke out from a top 50 placement to run with top 20 teams. If you study the rankings you will see how these outlier teams make for some great hockey. Watching WC win in the USA is a given, how we respond otherwise is where the real fun begins.
