Her audience is mostly disaffected middle class self-absorbed white women who grew up in the sheltered evangelical bubble and think that embracing leftist causes and liberal sexual morality makes them cool, enlightened, and free. I was in a church with a group of them and witnessed them up close and personal. They were a mess and contributed to the churches failure.

Eh, pretty dumb and tone deaf but the harm of two idiots dressing as cholos pales in comparison to the harm Jen causes.

The whole I can’t quit you thing is ridiculous on so many levels and with the gay connection why would Brando say it to his female AP in the first place ?

And I don’t believe for a second she sold north of 75,000 copies

From twitter:
Alicia Childers:
Reading Jen Hatmaker's "Awake" back to back with @lucasmiles "Pagan Threat" is eye-opening. Although I'm only a few chapters in to the latter, its introduction and first chapter basically explain everything I just read in Hatmaker's book.

In "Awake," Hatmaker identifies the greatest force of oppression in her life: Christianity. Then, she replaces it with the unholy trinity of Feminism, critical pedagogy, and witchcraft (yes actual witchcraft). Now she is living from that worldview which "trusting the goodness of my own safe body" leads her into being "awake," sexually liberated, and ultimately happy. She does this all in the name of a "Jesus" that is crafted by her own imagination.

@Natasha_Crain and I will be reviewing the book on our next episode of The Unshaken Faith Podcast

“Jen Hatmaker writes in the new edition of her book "Simple & Free": "Of all my writing projects, 'Simple & Free' is my thin-crust Domino’s pizza. I just can’t quit it.”

She released Simple and Free in March 2021 - a full year AFTER Brandon’s late night “I can’t quit you” message. And she used the same verbiage to describe….pizza. Lol.

That’s how many SHE said has sold in her last post. With the next sentence asking people to keep buying it.

Where do you get these book numbers?

Book failed because she built Brandon up as the ultimate handyman, favored father, tough guy. Going from that to a gay man is the opposite of being awake.

I read part of her re-release of 7, renamed the anemic Simple and Free, and there is a scene where she and the neighbors are eating Domino's pizza and she says to the pizza, "I can't quit you."
I can't make this up.
