This. The Dems don’t care about US workers. They say they care for the working classes, yet want the open border to flood the labor market with cheap, unskilled laborers to compete against those same low-skilled US citizens. I simply cannot believe that the House is not forced to stay in session — no trips home for members— until this issue is resolved.

Trump is not going to open the Gov. first. He would lose all leverage in the negotiations. I cannot believe the House leadership turned down Trump’s DACA deal. How, exactly, are the Dems supporting the dreamers??????? No action.

DACA is protected by the courts. Limiting it to 3 years doesn't make sense for the Democrats.

How long is DACA protected by courts?

Give Dreamers citizenship. That’s worth $5 billion for a wall that will likely never get built.

McConnell should have brought the House bills to the Senate floor and see where it goes. To not even bring them to a vote is an abdication of duty.

I assume you also feel that Pelosi has an obligation to allow Trump's proposal to come to a vote in the House?

McConnell isn’t going to waste time having a vote for a bill he knows the President will veto. That bill MUST contain funding for the Wall.

And I agree, Nancy should let the House vote on bill with DACA amnesty that Trump just offered. She doesn’t know how to negotiate.

DP here. One is a must-pass budget bill. The other is something the Republicans could have brought any time in the last 2 years. Big difference.

Nope, that's not how it works. The House has passed a number of bills. The Senate should vote on them. If they pass, then they go to the President for signature or veto. Watch Schoolhouse Rock if you cannot remember these things. The legislation comes from the legislature, not the Executive.

You can do it.

Wouldn't DH get a temp job, since OP works?

Anyway, I think it'll last another one to two weeks. They will meet in the middle with a way of labeling funds that both sides can play off as a win.

No part time job for furloughed federal employees? you are supposed to be on call and be back to work in 24 hours when government reopens

I have to get office clearance to work a second job...and of course no one is in the office.
