I’m a liberal and very pro choice but am so tired of the abortion issue. I’d be willing to trade it away for something like universal health care at this point.

The issue is this: give the evangelicals etc what they want (make abortion illegal) and it isn’t as if they are going to quit this shit and start voting Dem. They’ll just move onto the next “issue”- who knows what that will be- birth control?

I think they “say” - oh I can’t vote Dem abortion is the top issue waaaah- but that is just a cover IMO. They don’t want to pay any more for actual pro life issues like healthcare or welfare programs either- when it truly comes down to it. They’ll gin up some other issue that “forces them to vote GOP- cuz morals!” to avoid looking bad for not wanting to fund public programs..

Funny how you assume it’d be the woman. I’d assume the rich would hire some one to do it, the middle class parents would take turns, and the poor would sell the eggs for drugs or McDonald’s. Eventually, the government would step in and take unwanted fertilized eggs into their custody and raise as future soldiers for military. In fact, I suppose that could be done now with unwanted babies, couldn’t it? Solves both issues. Let’s Pubs feel moral about not killing unwanted fetuses and let’s Dems support women’s right to choose. Kinda stormtrooper like.

Unless you are coming to my house at 2am to help with the baby, providing me all the necessities for the baby for free, providing free childcare at any time so I can work, etc...you have absolutely no say on my choice whether to have a baby or not. Pro-lifers love to act like there is all this free help and support and that there are pregnancy centers to help etc...based on personal experience (I grew up in an area where teen pregnancy was prevalent) they only care about you until the baby is born. Then you are on your own and somehow that "massive support" is just not a thing anymore.

So unless you plan to financially, emotionally and logistically support the women you are forcing to have a child-shut up.
