The DA question is for a handful of players In the area, even at top top teams in top clubs. How many VYS players and parents care about where VDA practices? If you are from Vienna, you would know there are no DA commutes that will be easy now or in the future. If you are not from Vienna, why do you care about this so much? And yes. There is Arlington, at least for a couple of years for DA before boys go to DC United (which is relocating well outside the beltway). How many players from any club other than Arlington go to the Arlington DA? How many VYS players are likely to be candidates at Arlington? On their hand, is it really dumb to establish a marketing relationship with VDA? How does that hurt VYS? Everybody needs a reality check on this, talking about “programs” as if they are Kansas or Duke (umm, not even Bethesda is in that category), or as if the kids aware gonna be playing for first teams in La Liga (absolutely none will), or as if there is a material difference in coaching and playing talent across first teams of local U9s. There isn’t. Don’t kid yourself. 99.999% of Parents should focus on the happiness of their kid on the team, the convenience of practice, and whether your kid enjoys or is likely to enjoy being around kids on the club. The strength of the club is a lot more than winning or losing or DA placements. Which is why I found the HouseRec discussion a lot more interesting and concerning as a VYS travel parent. House/rec should be as strong as possible and obviously has a significant impact on the travel teams so I hope the club can address concerns effectively.
Caring about the strength of the House program. This is the reason VYS sucks. A travel club with a rec mentality. Not that VYS needs DA or ECNL but all the hand wringing and worrying about how the Rec program is performing is hilarious.

Completely agree. It is meant to stroke the VYS director's egos and add to their weak resumes. They need this to create the illusion for the board that they are doing something.
Good grief. How do you know and why would you care?
