Carly will be an interesting case of nature vs nurture. She will have had an amazing childhood and every opportunity available but her genetics are what they are....Nova will at least have less dysfunction in her life than what Tyler and Cate grew up with.

They were smart enough to know that they couldn't do it at that age with little to no stability. Fast forward what, 5 years and years worth of paychecks from MTV before they got pregnant. I don't for one minute think Nova wouldn't go to college. Ty and Cate will absolutely pound into her head to do better than they did. They are that type of parent.


I agree that they WANT her to go to college. But I am not sure they have the knowledge of how to GET their child(ren) into college. The odds of Nova even getting an associates degree from community college seem slim. Bentley will definitely go to college. Leah has a shot.


I think she will definitely go as well, based on how Gary and Kristina are raising her. She has had perfect attendance at school for a few years, and Gary and Kristina seem to enjoy the quiet homebody life, which means no lavish trips or extra "business ventures" that might interfere with Leah's routine of school. Amber is really an afterthought in her life. I would expect that at the very LEAST, Leah would go to a technical or trade school to learn a career, but probably community and/or four-year college. Gary isn't brilliant, but he's smart enough to manage rental properties and handle his financials with wisdom, and Amber might have mental illnesses, but she's not a total moron (maybe a half-moron? I think her bad decisions make her look stupider than she actually is).

Tyler and Cate, especially Cate, just seem dim. Tyler seems to be showing some sparks with the clothing line and his renovation ideas, but other than that... not many brains in that family gene pool.


What happened to the grandparents? I remember years ago they showed Catelyn's drug addled mom and she was my age (39 then) and looked like she was 55. It was a total PSA against meth.

It will be interesting to see how Carly turns out compared to the kids raised by Catelyn and tyler. I think we all know how it will turn out but still, its painful.

He had some gray hair in the first season, when he was in his early 20s. I don’t think it’s drug related. He was pretty hot early on. Now he’s just fat and high. So sad.
