Funny, I was going to add that exact thing to my first post. We walk to a lot of places. We especially did when we lived in Reston, which is routinely bashed on these boards. We loved it there.

I am a huge environmentalist and animal rights person. And I love the Range Rovers, that sexy beast of a car. If they made an electric one, i would be all over that.

People who live in big houses (or really houses at all) hate the planet. Also, if you live in the suburbs, you are dull and watch a lot of TV.

The PP was saying (s)he would like to live closer-in (probably addressing the part about living in Bethesda), but would not want a gas guzzling SUV or McMansion. No one said anything about living closer in = driving a gas guzzler.

I don't understand why people in big houses with big cars can't imagine that anyone else might value other things in life such as wanting to live in a smaller, more manageable home where your kids aren't two floors away from you. Some of us prefer public transit or a low gas milage sedan over an SUV. Personally, I am embarrassed by America's reputation for consuming so much gas and building such large homes compared to the rest of the world.

I was responding to the 5000 sf in Bethesda with a range rover comment. Sorry that you somehow missed that.

I'm fat and I'm happy. I don't want to suffer in the gym and worry about what I eat all the time. I don't care if men like me or not (not married).
