That's a good thing. Enrollment at Chantilly NEEDS to come down significantly. It would be nice if it came down enough to remove the modulars.
We have no problem with modulars. We are absolutely fine with it.
You might not have a problem with modulars, but other families might.
We will take modulars if it means we can stay at Chantilly. No one wants to be moved out of Chantilly.

No one wants to move out, but plenty of people want the overcrowding fixed. Someone has got to go.
Why? Chantilly soldiered through for years with 2900 kids, but now that the enrollment is projected to decline by 300 kids over the next five years “someone has got to go”?
I think what you really mean is “someone has got to go to Skyview.” And then, of course, someone “will have to go” to Westfield to backfill that school.
Not sure they really thought through all the implications before they wrote the big check.
Is your child's school at 130% capacity with a trailer park outside? No? Then maybe you don't get to complain about the new school. Even if they somehow lost 300 kids (highly doubt) they'd still be one of the most overcrowded schools in the county.

Well, those plenty of people can move their kids. Otherwise, should stop complaining.

A neighborhood school with tight boundaries to allow for a small regular student population, with another small student population centered around aviation and technology that come from across the county. Total enrollment of 1500-1600 kids.
Natural reduction in K-12 population and renovations make the trailers/modulars go away over time.
The school can hold up to 2200 with the renovations they are doing. They will populate it with roughly 2000 students as planned.
Can you share a source for the assertion the renovated school will hold 2200? I heard Erik Gordon say 2000 after the shell buildings were renovated at one meeting.
Two of the first 4 Western Scenarios A, B, C, and D populated Skyview with just under 2200 kids. The slides from the meeting during that timeframe listed the Expected Capacity as 2000(+) and Erik Gordon did mention, "2,000 to 2,200" at least once in that meeting. That was a while ago so maybe the plan has changed to target only 2,000.
