No, that’d make them pseudo anchor babies. Immigrants are not born here.
Then Vance is not married to an immigrant.
No he isn't. But also this about a throw away tweet on using ghee? Yes, he could have said more exactly that his wife is from an South Asian immigrant family but why the need for exactitude on an ethnic food tweet?
DD of immigrants here...I would find it very odd if my DH with Mayflower ancestors, in any context including social media, referred to me as an immigrant.
I find it a bit odd too. I wonder if he took his cue from her - maybe she has referred to herself as an immigrant rather than a daughter of immigrants or from an immigrant family?
That would be even weirder. I could see her referring to herself as Indian as opposed to Indian-American...but it's completely bizarre for an American to call themselves an immigrant. I
Wouldn’t be odd if perhaps she lied her entire life about being a poor immigrant to get into Yale and win a Gates Scholarship.

Military is military. I don't understand people trying to put him down over this. Many veterans are not combat veterans. Are you going up to them and being like "well, you didn't actually FIGHT, so no thank you for your service for you!"?

Busted in yet another pathological lie last night. Last night he claimed he was $120k in debt after law school, yet previously on record claimed he got a full ride because he was poor white trash. Which one is it? The bootstrapping Ivy League law grad . . . with no student loans . . . who became a venture capitalist . . . then gets millions for his propaganda memoir. The guy is a con man. Lies as naturally as breathing.
I think this guy is a pathological liar, but my DH graduated from law school with about that much debt about ten years before Vance did, and a lot of it was because he borrowed money for not just tuition, but also rent and every other living expense during those three years. He was waiting tables at night but it didn’t come close to covering a room in a group house in DC, food, etc.
So you believe he was taking out $40,000 a year in loans for living expenses? Yet he also previously claimed GI bill paid for part of law school. And he had lavish summer associate positions. Plus he would have had a lot of dough saved from military stint. None of this adds up. Because he’s a compulsive liar.
18:54 here. Come back to us after you go to law school. He may be lying about other things but this sounds legit.
