The difference between D1 UNC/Northwestern/Duke/UVA vs. D1 Queens/American/Longwood/App State is like the difference between a pro athlete and an 8th grade athlete. Just because that goalkeeper is a D1 commit doesn’t mean she’s even remotely on the same level as those WC Eagles girls, who are all top 10 D1 commits. Same with Pride and Bull City.

She is a big 10 commit but a goalie cannot save an entire team, especially not against WC.

She gave up more than 10 goals in one game. Top GKs, even those not from WC, don't do that.

Can we please change the narrative around goalies? She got scored on 10 times. Additionally, the TEAM let WC get at least 10 shots off. It’s a team effort. Unless you were there to witness the effort, it’s just your opinion. Which stinks.

Agree. If it’s a blow out, it’s absolutely not the fault of the GK. Not ever.

It's not totally the fault of the goalie.

The Hammers' goalie is very good, maybe could even be described as elite. I saw her play several times when she was at PV!. As far as letting in 10 goals against WC, I wasn't there but I'd guess the WC forwards had uncontested shots deep inside the circle. The field players on Hammers are not that strong. WC beat BC fairly convincingly in the finals. I think they were up 3-0 in the first 10 minutes.

I don’t know this GK personally and have no skin in the game but whoever posted this is completely clueless.WC GKs don’t let in any goals because they don’t get any shots on them because they have the best defenders in the country.

Not comparing to WC. Bc that IS unfair. The rest is accurate.

WC and Pride have the best GKs, in many opinions. Then there is everyone else. I will not share my opinion of the GK in questions but she is not going to a "Queens" or "Longwood" D1, she's going to a power Big 10 program. They must have seen something they liked.

The House vs NCAA ruling in June is going to change the game significantly. Huge roster cuts in most sports. Unless you’re an elite high school prospect, teams will now focus more on the transfer portal for talent. It’s going to be more difficult for girls interested in playing high level college field hockey to earn spots from here on out. The top teams will be pulling from a much smaller core of high school athletes moving forward. The WCs and Prides will be fine. Lower tier club teams like those in the DMV will suffer.
