I assume it was a male member who did this. All of them are ugly. I guess (delusional) threats are their only recourse when a woman tells them to get lost.

WTH??? That's crazy. But maybe it was one of the women?

It looks like Lauren Hough deleted the tweet referenced above, then tweeted "I don't want to deal with that right now"

What was the gist of the tweet she deleted?

While Dorland was incredibly unlucky in this entire situation and deserved better from beginning to end, she is currently fortunate to have Becky Tuch. This NEVER happens. A person who (1) recognizes they were wrong, (2) is willing to state that publicly, repeatedly, without disappearing from view, AND (3) willing to confront other wrong-doers who are digging in? That’s a real unicorn and I feel evidence of very strong character. Most people hate admitting their wrong, won’t apologize unless doing so benefits them directly. Tuch is really impressing me.

I mean she seems like a normal person who was only very tangentially involved. She may have had some rah rah emails when she thought Larson was being wronged but there are zero emails from her about making it her life mission to ruin Dorland’s life or telling her to F her kidney. If I were Tuch I’d be trying to run screaming from this whole thing with my integrity and reputation intact.

I am now officially a huge fan of Becky Tuch. Integrity, grit, and a good head on her shoulders.

Sorry I meant to link this one. Which, honestly, color me impressed with the self-reflection. In the same thread she is also honest about what she did.

More from Becky Tuch, also thoughtful.

Oh, and I’m so sick of Celeste Ng continually implying that there is more to this story that would explain everything, without delivering. If there were more (like any evidence DD had ever done anything to merit this treatment), they would have shouted it from the rooftops by now. The whole “if you knew the real story, you’d be on my side” argument she’s making is a classic mean girl move. It’s a way of defending yourself without evidence while reinforcing that she’s an insider (and you are not).

I’m disgusted with her at this point.

Idk. It doesn't feel like she's getting good crisis management advice here. Maybe she just doesn't think it is a crisis?

This is an interesting article I have seen from twitter, apparently only about 3400 people have done an altruistic kidney donation since 1997.

Yes, she started pretty tentative, but Becky Tuch has really been digging in on her apologies. Good for her.
