They are foolish to think going to trial is a good idea. Once the jury sees what’s on those videos, they’re going to want to personally string him up from the rafters. What are his lawyers thinking? Why didn’t he take a plea?

This motion along with the judge denying the motion that Bobye Holt's testimony should not be allowed because of clergy privilege are two big early wins for the Prosecution.
The Defense is going the "Josh is a Mac guy and the CP was found on a Dell partition which he doesn't use" defense and also the "the command codes found were too complex for a simple homeschooled GED recipient to execute" defense.
Josh Duggar’s lawyer Justin Gelfand warned the jury at the trial on Wednesday that they were going to see disturbing images but claimed that wasn't what the case was about, according to a reporter with the Sun present at the trial.
Instead, Gelfand told the jurors it was a case of "Who done it?"
The prosecution just called its first witness: Detective Amber Kalmer who is on the FBI ICAC task force and the one who discovered the computer was downloading CP.

Are they still trying to blame the Mexican immigrant for Josh's pedo pics?![]()
I hadn't heard the Mexican immigrant one, wow.
I did read on the Reddit thread that they initially blamed a family acquaintance with the last name Williams. Come to find out, the guy they blamed was in jail at the time the CP was accessed on the computer. So now that guy's brother is on the witness list. So maybe they're trying to blame him... that was one theory.

I agree with you.
I agree, but I use it facetiously with regards to Josh, because he used to refer to Jill as the family snitch, and I doubt he would have confessed or been “punished” if she hadn’t said something to her parents.

I’m no defender of josh but he was underage (12 yrs old the first time) when he first did what he did to his sisters. He was a child and I think his parents and church community clearly failed him when he asked for help. Now this is no surprise. I find that sad.
This made me pause, because you’re right. There are accounts of josh admitting/ confessing what he had done to the adult in charge more than once- it sounded like he told Bobye what he had done without any prompting, and it sounds like he freely admitted the thing with his sisters to his parents. He was crying out for help. And didn’t get it. And now he is this monster , when he probably didn’t want to be.
I'm pretty sure the sisters snitched on him first, and then he confessed. Who knows what would have happened if the sister (presumably Jill) never spoke up about it.
Imo it doesn’t matter if sister snitched. He was still a child who was failed by the adults in his life. It was an adult’s responsibility to get him help. You say who knows what would have happened if jill hadn’t spoken up but she did and pretty much the worst thing did happen.
...
They did help him. According to their faith values. They sent him to Christian rehabilitation camp.
For three months in 2003, Josh was sent to the Institute in Basic Life Principles Training Center in Little Rock, Arkansas
