My mother is not a Fox News watcher. Says she's just not concerned.And he has multiple issues that would kill her outright, never mind adding a virus.

In my mother's case, I think age has limited her ability to understand things well.

Nope, I’d rather have my spacious house, already clean and fully stocked, with all of my kids toys, games, etc. and access to our doctors and hospitals if necessary.

Who ARE all these people who hate being home SO much they would insist on leaving in the middle of this?


+1 We are staying at least 3 weeks at home. I feel like every outing out of the house is an endeavor, because there is a risk of exposure and then I have to clean everything that comes back into the house. Even if you’re going on a camping trip, there is gas and other things, right? I also wouldn’t want to expose people who have to work if I or my kids were asymptomatic carriers and transmitting the virus. I would feel terrible if someone got ill or died because I wanted to keep my Spring vacation. (We just decided to cancel it.)

The wedding we were supposed to go to in Westchester NY in early April has been postponed. It was the right decision but I hope they didn’t lose too much money.

Not a cancel - but my aunt is scheduled to come home from a trip tomorrow. She wrapped up cancer treatments in November and is now looking at a 3.5 hour flight home.

She called Jet Blue and they switched her seat to the first row so she can be the last on and the first off and somewhat isolated in the plane. She will wear the mask I sent with her.

It’s not perfect, but was happy Jet Blue was trying their best to make this accommodation.

I can't believe there are idiots still asking about whether they should travel for weddings and dates. Corporations are making decisions to forgo millions upon millions of dollars of revenue which is very atypical of businesses. They're doing so because stopping the spread is the #1 priority right now and rightfully so. And yet you have selfish, dense individuals coming on here asking if they should attend weddings, stay in hotels, etc. No, No, No. Stay home as much as possible. Stop being an entitled, selfish moron.

Typically, I wouldn't use this type of language, but there is no reason to think your personal convenience should trump public health concerns.


The family wedding Im supposed to go to next week is still on. I feel horrible if I dont go, but I feel like my hands are tied. I wish there would be mandatory rescheduling for these type of events from the actual venues or states/cities.


Your hands are not tied. You cannot depend on the bride and groom who are too in love and consumed with themselves right now to think about your welfare or the welfare of the guests. Should they? YES. But they are currently in their little love bubble and feel together they can conquer anything so even a freaking pandemic is not going to wake them up.



When I said my hands are tied, I meant like I dont intend to go. I was feeling badly about missing the event but feeling like my hands are tied due to the situation going on. I agree with you!

I've cancelled all my travel, but I would go on the trip you describe. You are relatively close to home, you will be away from crowds, you can control/clean your own environment. You will enjoy nature and that is so important right now. Just really cover yourself in terms of bringing anything you need to survive, including extra of everything.
