Hmm it doesn't look like you and the rest of the people in North Arlington understand math. Kenmore will be over 50% Economically Disadvantaged Kenmore will be over 50% ED. This is in one of the wealthiest most educated counties in the country. Surely we can do better for the children in our community with just a few adjustments to the map. But now I am beginning to understand the Arlington Way.

No, we understand that math. We just don't think spending limited APS funds on busing kids around is the way to fix what is essentially an affordable housing issue. You may not agree with that position, but there was overwhelming support for prioritizing proximity in both N and S Arlington. You can focus your anger specifically on Madison Manor and Dominion Hills if it makes you feel better, but we were not the only planning units that spoke out in favor of maximizing walkability. That sentiment was county-wide.

Looks like the proposed revised A2 map is up on board docs for tonight's SB meeting. No road names, so I can't tell what was tweaked, if anything.

We don't "all love diversity". It's a nice to have, not a need to have. The overwhelming majority of APS parents feel this way. There's this implication that APS parents are somehow not being honest with themselves when they hold "walkability" and "diversity" on the same plane. Nothing could be further from the truth.

This is probably true. Full disclosure I live in S Arlington though so take it with a grain of salt because we are doing private. My coworker grew up poor is often in awe of all S Arlington schools as they are all better than public schools elsewhere and even she says I will not send my kids to x even though she herself acknowledges it is still better than the school she went to. Being I. s Arlington around regular people is nice but the reality is eastern Pike and western pike are two sides of another track
