We won't know until the numbers are released and it appears that someone is sitting on them because they did not live up to her predictions/projections.

If you want to say another kid from Mann is a "trend," by my guest. I'll wait for the overall numbers.

There were never any "In-Bound" projections. The principal stated that she had reserved a certain number of seats for students not arriving through the lottery. Despite some idiots here telling you that these seats were saved for "In-Bound" students, this is false. The seats can -- and must -- be set-aside for feeder school students, not "In-Bound" students.

It is a reasonable question whether the enrolled feeder students met the set-aside projection. I don't have an answer to this, but this is the only question of relevance (both literally and figuratively).

It's a DCPS central office thing. Check the school profiles for any DCPS; they all still show SY13-14 demographic data (race, IB, ELL etc).

+1. I'm baffled by how clueless some of the posters are. The idea that there will be a gigantic gap between next year's Hardy & Deal is fiction. Hardy is ultimately going to be the most desirable MS: its IB catchment is higher SES than deal, it's a much smaller school & the IB ARE attending in increasing numbers . . .


I used to think this, but based on present trajectory it could be 20 years or so. I don't have time for my kids to be guinea pigs in the meantime. I think it's unrealistic to expect Deal to just stand still as well. It will continue to improve and Hardy will be playing a distant second place for a very long time, I'm afraid.

Because DC is full of people that were the best in this or that class somewhere else USA and now we move here to do jobs that prove we are actually smart and pretend it is meaningful. When it is not we make money prostituting for the federal government and then obsess about our children being better and at a better place than anyone else. That way we can pretend to go back to those days when we were great academic wonders to the poor schleps around us that were just going to be regular people.

It is hard to look down on others if you don't denigrate them. Hardy is just an easy way to do it.
