There are too few media companies presently. It’s just a few conglomerates - Disney, Warner, Fox, Sinclair - that control everything now. The next administration needs to break up Disney and Fox and Warner. And Sinclair with their dominance over local markets. I think Disney’s decisions in recent days provides very compelling reasons why we need more players in the media market.
Breaking the media conglomerates should be a pretty compelling issue that resonates with most Americans.
Some people are saying this started because NexStar wants to merge with an affiliate, but would have to get FTC approval because it would make them too large.
I agree, we need to break up the media, banks, insurers, and on.
It’s NextStar who both wants to merge with Tegna AND needs the FCC to chuck their rule against corporations owning too much of the country’s media market, plus Disney wants approval of ESPN’s purchase of the NFL Network.

Kimmel's show was very popular. ABC, like CBS, is cutting off it's nose to spite its face. Kimmel will be invited to speak his mind on Fallon and Colbert.
Colbert has been cancelled, too. I can’t believe the media is rolling over for Trump… sad, sad day and era.
"the media" and the various leading social media platforms are mostly owned by billionaires. Of course they are going to kowtow to the authoritarian. That's how this works.

What are you talking about? The only recent news about Kimmel since his return has been that he’s been funding a food bank in his studio parking lot.
They’re not airing a show tonight because the bandleader, who’s been Jimmy’s friend since they were 9, just died. Still waiting for news on anything else that the PP who bumped this thread is going on about.

He is so angry about the traitors caving in the shutdown that he’s decided to run for office.
