Keep in mind, this is the boys private school forum. This is not a public school forum.

That is the most ridiculous, pretentious and privileged comment I have seen in awhile. You obviously have no clue how anything works. I agree about the club lacrosse helping tremendously with recruiting. But everything else you said is so wrong, and adds to the stigma of those that go to private schools, are just self indulged, isolated, and stuck up.

It had to be said.

Yeah but it is still true and the numbers don’t lie.

What? It is not true at all. "College coaches like the fact that parent are already use to paying tuition, and that makes them more likely to be able to pay going forward". That is ridiculous. I wouldn't want my kids going to school with anyone that thinks that way.

10% of American HS students attend a private HS. Look at any lacrosse roster. Probably 75-80% private schools.

That has nothing to do with whether or not a college coach thinks a recruited player can pay for tuition or not. I hope this is just a misinformed high school student posting..

He's not misinformed. College rosters are anywhere from 45-55 players. After the first 20, the player better have excellent grades and the family the ability to pay the tuition. Our stellar public school system is less likely to produce a player with both excellent grades and the ability to pay. College coaches save a lot of time by taking the path of least resistance.

Keep justifying to yourself why you spend 40k a year to send your kid to a private school. You are so wrong it actually worries me that all private school parents think this way. Go ahead a look at those rosters. I think you would be surprised with how many public school kids on on there. And for the record, our public school system is the best in the world. Those teachers and coaches do something you would never be able to do.

Keep current players’ names and their schools out of this forum. They could have chosen their school for various reasons. Stop being an immature jerk.

Whom from the 2022 SJC squad is making a name for themselves at the collegiate ranks?

I know Richard Checo (LSM) had a stellar freshman campaign at Lehigh last Spring.. who else?

The problem with the PP’s statement about college coaches preferring private was the “full pay” comment. For the most part, coaches could care less about that.

In this area, and certain other areas primarily on the Eastern seaboard, the coaches like the private school kids because they know that they have played against tough competition.

In many of the emerging areas of lacrosse, the top quality kids are so scattered that it doesn’t matter where they went to school.

In other places, like Long Island, the depth of talent in public schools can rival and even match some of the private/Catholic schools.
