Not to hijack this thread but I have a questino re D3 commits. How would SSSAS already have D3's in the 27 class? I thought they couldn't go down that road until next fall?

That’s a NESCAC rule not D3

I feel like returning starters, and how many first year varsity players you have has to play some role in predicting next year’s outcome. When you add that in, it looks like NCS, SR, Potomac, Visi, SSSAS.

I'd go with SR at 2027, and likely in 2028 as well.

Regarding all the talk of committed players, it's more important to focus on the quality than just the total number. You need to identify 4/5-star players and build around that in the analysis. At some point, a committed player and a NARP add similar incremental value.

Have to agree about what “committed” means in evaluating team strength. All commitments deserve to be celebrated, first of all. That said, some commitments are to colleges with very weak programs, including some that have a hard time filling their rosters until last minute. But then also consider that there are always a few players that go to D3 programs that are better academic schools that could have gone to mid to lower ranked D1 schools but whose academics are less than stellar. It’s not as straightforward as “more commits equals better”, though it does indicate a certain level of dedication to the sport as a whole.
