This is such the essential point for me.

My theory is that she wanted a Barbenheimer moment, and that is why her husband got involved. They thought they’d slap together Deadpool and this movie and own August. She and her husband are scum bags and are lazy about doing difficult tasks like creatively developing projects.

Why are you like this? You're ruining the thread.

Do, and she isn’t the one ruining thr thread.

How should we respond? Should we all agree with one another? How does this work?

I love how the person whining about all the Lively critics keeps saying they’re going to get the thread shut down. No, YOU are going to get it shut down because you’re literally the only one who keeps complaining about it.

I have not read all 85 pages of this and I'm late to the game here so I apologize if this has already been posted but this is a heck of a rabbit hole here! This is all the evidence and paper work:

Blake wasn’t a an actual patient in a doctor’s office, she wasn’t working as a surgeon amongst all male colleagues…she was pretending to give birth. It’s all fake. Keep this in mind, she wasn’t as vulnerable as she would like us to believe.

This doesn't track because sex scenes are also just "make believe" but productions are expected to use an intimacy coordinator and treat actors respectfully when they are filmed because it's generally accepted that depicting such an intimate act requires vulnerability and exposure of the actors involved.

And the Florence Pugh birth scene mentioned upthread also talked about the same issues -- using a midwife consultant and an intimacy coordinator specifically because filming the scene was so intimate for Pugh (and Andrew Garfield) and they talked about how Pugh and Garfield didn't even have the makeup artists come in between takes so that they could maintain the intimacy of the scene -- they touched up one another's "sweat makeup" in between takes so that they could stay in the moment without interruption.

You make it sound like filming a scene where you are giving birth is no big deal, just another day of work, who cares. But that does not appear to be the standard attitude within the industry. And Baldoni keeps claiming he was really invested in "the female gaze" for this movie. If that was true, why didn't he make more of an effort to ensure the comfort of an actress while filming such a personal, intimate scene? It doesn't make sense, unless his whole feminist schtick is an act. Wouldn't he *want* Lively to be comfortable and feel supported in that scene?

Whatever. It all comes with the territory of acting. These people chose this field of work, if you can call it that. It’s fake, it’s not real life. If you don’t like it quit…

Trying to figure out who the other actress who complained might be, I came across this daily mail article. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-14314811/blake-lively-justin-baldoni-costar-jenny-slate-trolls-legal-battle.html

Anyone care to look at the names of the people who posted negative comments on Jenny Slate's social media and guess whether they are actually real people or maybe instead part of an orchestrated social media campaign? Names like: malibu23658, koryplz, nancyr_78, another from malibu23658, mishy94m, ktxgg, moonlightgirl.82, getse_mora, missleoscotthq, shanecombs, koala1879, etc. Maybe some of these are real, but I don't think this is how most people really post on someone else's Instagram "Jenny it's not too late to fiercely come out against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds unless you're happy with how you ended your career."

Maybe I'm just an old.

"Cavorted?" What are you, a gossip columnist from the 1950s?

She is hypocritical, she could stop acting now and just join the rest of us and deal with real life experiences. Stop playing make believe, actually have a creepy doctor ogling you and a real man harassing you. Not some perceived harassment in fantasy land.

I'm not implying you are actual bots. I am implying you are mindless sycophants entranced by his handsome looks and allyship cosplay into losing respect for yourselves and loyalty to your fellow women. Just to clear up that misconception.

Who is being misogynistic now?

You are either on someone’s payroll, trolls or losers with nothing better to do with your time. Anyway, we all lose because you ruin this thread by literally posting the exact same thing every 12 hours or so. And you all somehow support Blake. It’s odd or maybe just indicative of who her base actually is.

Maybe people keep remarking about how there are a lot of misogynistic comments in this thread because some of the Baldoni supporters (maybe like you) keep posting misogynistic takedowns of Lively instead of just talking about the facts. We're allowed to notice that. You have posted the same "you are posting the same thing over and over" comment now at least 3x in this thread, so: Pot, Kettle.

DP. the problem is you or someone like you is trying to get the WHOLE thread shut down based on the bad comments of a few instead of just flagging those. Plus you’re claiming that anyone who sides with Baldoni or expressed anything negative about Lively is a misogynist or paid by Baldoni. I don’t think anyone would care about your viewpoint except that you’re trying to silence everyone else.

I'm not the DP but actually some of us are trying to keep the thread open by reporting and having removed the really egregious comments. I've reported a TON of comments in this thread that were just blatant trolling, calling posters really offensive nicknames (which I will not repeat) and generally dragging the discussion here into the mud. Those comments were all removed and the thread is better off for it -- it's easier to read the varying opinions (by posters on all sides of the issues who have the maturity to post opinions without attacking people or engaging in name calling).

I do not want this thread shut down which is why I've been vigilant in reporting. I only report the worst posts and there are plenty of posts on this thread that I don't personally agree with but that I won't report because it's just an opinion I don't like.
