Surprise: they aren't "rich" and they don't need these vehicles for their jobs or to get to their houses. They are just suckers who tried to keep up with the Joneses.
Do I have an axe to grind? I sure do, I was made fun of for years because I had a cheap small car. Guess whose cheap, small, fuel efficient car isn't getting made fun of now?
Can you plow a field with it? It will come back to bite you

2020 prediction that gas prices would soar under Biden. Controls to reduce output, fracking and drilling could cause gas prices to surge when deman steered to climb back from pre-covid levels.
So I Blame Biden.
No one forced you to buy a gas guzzler.
Have a 2019 CRV that gets 27 miles a gallon.
I still blame Biden for his policies.

Or sell your gas guzzling $65K tricked out Ford F-150 or maybe a Ram-1500 pickup truck that is presently costing you $500 a week to fill up. Poor little poors, bless their 💕 such total nonsense.
The guy driving the $65k pickup can afford the expensive gas, same as the guy driving the $65k BMW.
High gas prices are essentially a regressive tax, that hurts poor and middle class people much more than it does the well-off and rich.

I imagine the meeting goes something along the lines of instructing Powell to turn the machines back on again so they can try to salvage some seats in the midterms.
