OP is likely not a troll. Her fear is warranted. As Jerry Seinfeld said after Oct. 7, we were so grateful to be in the US, it could never happen here. But here we are. An undeniable undercurrent of hate, as demonstrated by so many of these comments. You may say it’s Israel you hate, but every synagogue has had a police car outside of it for as long as I can remember - decades, and it didn’t matter who was in power in Israel, left or right, and even after it gave complete autonomy to Palestine in 2005. That said, Europe is much worse. My relatives who lived all their lives in the UK (London and Manchester) have now left for Israel as the anti-semitism has become unbearable.
The synagogues that need police protection are because some of them engage in “The Great Israeli Real Estate Event” where they auction off land that belong to Palestinians. Naturally there are going to be protests. No one here has said anything against the Jewish religion, I’m so proud when I see Jewish people engaged in protests against Israel because they are so brave. They are called fake news or worse by their own people, now that’s antisemitic.
Well, no. My synagogue has had police protection since long before the Gaza war began (and our rabbis have been quite critical of the Israeli government since before then, too). We installed permanent metal detectors after someone murdered Jews at a synagogue in Pittsburgh motivated by nothing that had anything to do with Israel at all. And there’s never been an auction of Palestinian land — or any land in Israel, for that matter — there at all.
I think OP is wrong on the facts about the war and about the Kristof column and overly dramatic about the climate for Jews in America, but please don’t try to tell us that the ONLY reason American Jews need security is because of Israel.

Yup, as the racists in these comments prove, hate and weaponized ignorance are on the rise against Jews, women, and other traditional scapegoats. The irony is that in the long-term this bigotry creates more Zionists. Lean into community, have frank discussions with your kids about these and other dark times in Jewish/American history, bear witness and hold the bigots accountable, that’s all you can do, really.
There will always be many more people who are not Zionists than actual Zionists in the world. Zionists are not welcome in many parts of the world now. But continue to wallow in your victim hood - no one cares!
Antizionism is a hate movement.
Hate against who? Most zionists are Christian.
These are cults. Christianity, zionism, Zoroastrianism, mormonism, etc. The sooner we realize we are dealing with huge cults, the better off we will be. It’s the blind conformity and groupthink which is a very dangerous thing.

+1. It is long past time for some introspection about why there is dislike of the behavior of a certain group of people.
Which group do you mean, specifically?

Yes. Jews are the canary in the coal mine with respect to the health of society. It’s not looking good.
Some of the people that I care about the most in the world are Jewish. Their immense kindness and generosity has deeply impacted my life and my family’s. (Coincidentally, none of them blindly support Israel).
I am a progressive and Israel and Zionists have lost me. Your inability to criticize the bad actors is driving people like me away. You will deny that this is anything but antisemitism but you are wrong. Zionists are creating an unsafe environment for Jews across the world. In your fantasy, anyone who doesn’t blindly bow down to Bebe is an anti semite.
When I see a nun beat up by a Jew in Israel or a Christian spit on - I don’t run to some religious war or “anti Catholic” trope, I pass it off as a bad actor. Now please gaslight me and tell me it never happened.
So you indict an entire nation of people because three religious fanatics spat on a nun. Has America lost you, too? An antizionist murdered Sarah Milgrim and Austin Lischinsky on the streets of DC in front of kids I know personally. An antizionist firebombed a demonstration calling for peace in Colorado and murdered a woman there. How about the Jews who get spat on in Brooklyn? Have you lost Americans and America? How about in Nigeria where Christians are subjected to violence? Have you lost the Nigerians? How about the Saudis? Have you lost them? How about every other country in the world? They all have bad actors that discriminate against peoples in their countries? Your hatred is saved for the only Jewish nation in the whole world that you hold to a double standard. But yes, you love certain types of Jews. And you aren’t a racist or an antisemite.
Thanks for quickly proving my point. There are bad actors everywhere which is what I said. When I see one, I don’t make generalizations and try to conjure up a victim scenario. Christians love the persecution myth e.g. MAGA. And so do you. You literally refuse to claim and condemn and bad actors in Israel. Instead, it is “what about” “what about”… Condemn bad behavior instead of gaslighting people and calling them anti-semites.
You just admitted you are an antisemite. Thanks for that.
DP. What the hell? PP said nothing that was remotely anti-semitic. You're just trying to cry wolf to troll people.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Wait is OP saying Kristof's article itself is antisemitic? That is insane. So no one is allowed to say anything negative about Israel even if it is true? How does that help the cause against antisemitism in general? Or like do you just automatically assume reporting like this is wrong bc you don't want it to be right? Maybe you need to do some self reflection?
SO glad to see so many people don't agree with OP and are expressing the absolute frustration it is to see people conflate criticism of Israel with antisemitism.
Kristoff's article is actually antisemitic.
He timed his publication the day before the massive Civil Commission report on Hamas' use of s3xual violence in their October 7 attack and with the hostages. You can read about that here: https://www.cnn.com/2026/05/12/middleeast/report-sexual-violence-hamas-oct-7-attacks-intl Timing his piece to preempt this report draws a moral equivalency that minimizes the violence done to Israelis by terrorists whose stated objective is the murder of all Jews. He straight-up states that as the objective in the conclusion of his piece: "Think of it this way: The horrific abuse inflicted on Israeli women on Oct. 7 now happens to Palestinians day after day." That's Kristof saying the quiet part out loud: equivalency in order to minimize Israeli trauma and excuse Hamas' terrorism. There should absolutely be accountability in Israel's prison system, but the abuses parallel issues in the US prison system and most other prison systems around the world; it's a systemic human problem that we all need to do better to address. I hope Bibi and his far-right ministers are voted out in the next election and that some real reforms are implemented in Israel.
85,000 dead Palestinians, most of whom were innocent civilians and children. Sorry, that's an inconvenient truth to you.
It is inherent to the nature of tyrannical regimes that they operate on some kind of leveraged vengeance scheme. Not uncommon for it to be 3-5 orders of magnitude. "Harm 1 of ours and we will harm 10,000 of yours."
The democratically elected Prime Minister of a coalition government is now tyrannical? You might not like him (I know I don’t like ours), but Israel is a democracy with a Knesset of which 20% are Arab Israelis. Hamas, on the other hand, was democratically elected in 2007 on a plain mandate of the destruction of Israel. They proceeded to murder their political opponents of the Palestinian Authority and have held uncontested power for 20 years.
No sane or reasonable person is arguing for Hamas. They are vile monsters.
But I guess people expected better of Israel. And after all the death in recent years, how does anyone conclude Israelis are the good guys?
These are serious things. All the killing in Gaza. Tens of thousands of dead children and women who had nothing to do with anything. The fanatics colonizing the West Bank. Invading Lebanon. Starting a war with Iran, and dragging the US into it.
That should have no bearing on a Jewish kid growing up in America. Like 9/11 shouldn't have had an impact on a Muslim kid growing up in America.
But the thing is if Israel is the Jewish state and they are making these choices, well, Jews everywhere are going to be asked to explain what's up with all this violence and death. Like Muslims had to deal with after 9/11. Why y'all so violent?

We give them billions, and billions, and billions every single year. If they paid for their own military and arms, they would not be able to give their people free healthcare and free education. Israel is a parasite.
I would much much rather Americans (include Jewish Americans) have access to healthcare and education. But this is anti-semitic? Get out of here, zionazis.

The bottom line is that Israel EXISTS! And it will always exist whether people choose to hate it or not. It isn’t going anywhere. If people truly cared about Palestinians, they wouldn’t foment hatred against Israel. Instead they would help the Palestinians do something positive to form their own peaceful, democratic country. But no. It is all about destroying another country.
Take that shit somewhere else. We are all informed and educated here.
That is the most depressing part. You are likely educated. Unfortunately, also informed…by propaganda. An educated useful idiot.

What a load of horse doo doo. “They,” whomever “they” are don’t “auction off land that belong to Palestinians.” That is not true at all. No one is auctioning off land in Israel! And Israel belongs to Israel. If you are talking about Judaea and Samaria, there is no auctioning of land there either. Probably there is an information center on how to buy land in Israel or Judaea and Samaria (the part that is Israeli). No one is selling or auctioning land that belongs to Arabs. You Antizionists are so ignorant you are laughable.
The pp is a pro-Palestinian bot. Has to be to make up sh_t like that. Same as the blood libel. All made up by bots to keep the narrative going and keep planting the lies.
