If you have kids, once you try a large luxury SUV, there's no going back. You'll miss the view and everything feels too cramped. The modern safety features these all come with standard, modern fuel efficiency, and the 4 wheel turning have alleviated all the prior downsides.

American cars give me too much trouble; I just want to get from point a to point b with the least number of problems in a car that will last for at least 10-15+ years.

What does this mean? A class above. They are definitely not nicer. They are bigger for sure.

Well, yeah, but they don't compare any of those to offshore competitors. They compare them to each other, in a size class that foreign cars don't typically compete in. An Escalade is almost 1,000 pounds heavier than the largest Lexus.

I had good American cars - I kept them forever. But when I was replacing my last Oldsmobile (yes, it has been a while) GM wasn’t really making anything I wanted to drive. I went with a Mazda that’s now 16 years old. Soon it will be time to replace that, and there’s nothing domestic that I want to get. I want a gas hybrid that’s not too ugly and midsize SUV. GM went all in on electric and they pared down their lines so much that there’s little left. I test drove a Mazda that’s the same as the one I have and it was nice and a good ride. Their new hybrids are going to be using the RAV4 power train and engine.

They’re not making cars that people want to,buy unless if you want a mega SUV or a truck.
