Unless they are going to close 14th Street and Penna Ave in that area, I am not sure how that location is even remotely secure enough.

My sense is that this was an announcement made without any actual discussion, mostly to own the demise of USAID.

There's a reason CIA and NSA are on large suburban campuses, surround by plenty of land for effective perimeters. A downtown location also make it difficult to attract talent, which often is uninterested in commuting into the city, especially support staff who are less well compensated.


They did want a large, suburban campus which can be made more secure, but they also wanted to stay in DC. Trump wants them in DC, so in DC the FBI shall stay … I guess.

Haha. Teams goes down all the time.

This is a pretty decent idea, tbh. The the Hoover building site can be rebuilt and the FBI can move back in.
