Looking for current information on Girls rising 5th Grade AAU teams in the general areas of Bethesda, McLean, NW DC. My DD currently plays and we’ve seen the following teams: Classics, Darnstown, PPA, PVT, and T2F. Are there any others out there? Can’t say I’ve been particularly impressed (just watching from the sidelines) with what I have seen. We are new to AAU Basketball and it all seems to disorganized and fragmented. Can’t make heads or tails of what’s the better league, which has the best coaching, etc. If my kid didn’t love to play as much as she does, I would throw the towel in because trying to figure it all out is one big headache. Any guidance would be most appreciated.

I had a buddy just have his kid try out for Capital City Thunder 16u.

He saw they are looking for a few more kids to round out the team. His kid went to the workout and coach was awesome. Head coach of Falls Church. They may still be looking for a kid or two. Most tournaments local, but a few out of town HoopGroup and Made tourney.

We are actually looking for players. Some dropped last minute. Lots of maneuvering going on in the area with teams.

You're assuming that kids good enough to play up and down the east coast aren't already on teams?

If you have any questions you can contact the team. I was simply putting it out because I know they’re looking for a couple extra players. They don’t have any girls on their team but had some that tried out last season and I over heard the coaches mention to their parents they didn’t get enough girls come try out to form a team. Again.
