The US martyred an old leader who was already dying, with a leadership succession plan firmly in place. Killing the leader was the easy part. The new leader is 10 times worse than the person he replaced.

To date, nothing has been articulated and it doesn't appear any work has been done to truly form a credible opposition either inside or outside the country.
