Additional Note - Players “trapped down”
Due to the 8/1 cutoff for soccer and 9/1 school cutoff in California, many players with an August birthday will be eligible to play in the age group younger than most players of their school grade. This could put those players at the very disadvantage that the age group change was designed to avoid. The bright side, however, is that the solution to this problem is entirely in the hands of clubs.
US Club gets it + understands that Aug birthdays playing on a grade down team is an issue. So do we want to call this a recommendation from US Club that younger than the SY eligibility window should play with their grade? Seems like that it whats being recommended.
This to me says that US Club recognizes the "disadvantage" of August birthdays playing down in SY depending on when their school starts. It also implies that allowing playing down a grade was not their intention when switching to SY. In the last sentence US Club punts the issue to clubs.
What this says to me is clubs that want to have the best possible college recruits will not allow August birthdays to play on a grade down team. You might see it at tournaments with eligible players playing down as guests. You might also see it at the littles level when it doesnt matter. But they will need to play with they grade eventually to get recruited for college. The longer you wait to play on the correct grade team the harder it is to make the jump up.
It's his thing. He's so convinced by it, he feels the need to "educate" all of us here. All the pushback only encourages him more toward his goal to tell people they're wrong.
Next season when theres no players playing down on top teams will sort everything out.

MLSN1 = BY
MLSN2 = SY

First, what's the source, besides another thread? Second, that's consistent with case-by-case, baby!
Sorry, dude, it just says clubs can do what they want. No forcing like you want. But -- please show us where on the US Club website this exists? Haven't seen it anywhere and there's folks on this thread that like to create things to support their arguments.
Smells an awful lot like a recommendation
Ok keep your head in the sand
Sounds like an acknowledgement on the dumb decision to go with 8/1 instead of 9/1 and for people to at least be aware this issue exists. Not sure there is much in the way of recommendation one way or the other though.
