Not saying prevent changes but anyone who thinks a person comes in and starts dictating what is done, how it's done is not being honest here. She'll need a year or 2 to learn the landscape, all the people in play will be on their best behavior to make a good impression. She shouldn't be judged if everyone leaves, and she shouldn't be given flowers if everyone stays. We won't know until a couple of years down the road.

Sure. We won't know if she's successful for 2 years. But I'd be surprised if there are not quick improvements in things like communication and vision. I'm sure she already knows most of the players at GFR.

Let's get serious.

She's great, YES! Will she make changes? MAYBE when? 3-4 or maybe 6-7 years down the road

GFR is pretty lean management-wise. Who exactly are "all the people that were in charge" that will prevent changes?

Fair enough but a sinking ship just patched a big hole and is now afloat once again. We will see if the patch job does the trick but at least for now the ship is not sinking! The bad changes happen quickly and the good ones sometimes take a little longer.

Funny that the new hire announcement came right after OP chirped that winter had come. How quickly the seasons change!

MYS has not been afraid to push the malcontents out. Will be an interesting few months here with the coaches who think rules don't apply to them.

Some facility upgrades might be nice but probably need to work that out w/ FCPS & Fx Park Authority. Longer term project.

One good person can fix some small bore problems with internal controls pretty quickly, and as far as I’ve seen, that’s the only thing that’s been credibly alleged to be an actual problem here. Everything else has seemed to be the overheated bloviating of disgruntled blowhards. The only person who really messed up the club gone, and the club is repairing the damage caused by departed former director ML and his over-reaction.

One person might not but imagine she will also get rid of some dead weight and bring in some new roles. Maybe a merger with another club will finally happen? Goodness, let's let the ink dry on her new contract before making predictions!!!!

Feel like if RS isn't doing his job she will get rid of him...... If she has a strong finance background doubt she's gonna pay him to do nothing lol. Coaches have been told he won't have any sort of power but maybe that's just to get them to stay.

I am sure she is a great person, but why does a finance director matter? Also, doesnt this underscore that GFR has been having financial issues, etc. So while it is great they are doing something about it, but it also kind of acknowledges a lot of inherent issues to work through.

Yeah, and? I don't think this underscores or acknowledges anything other than that they are more focused on and ED who can run the daily operations of the club and has a finance background. Everyone knows RS wasn't really running the club for years, the admin was and PA has club admin experience and HR experience from her bio. As soon as KG left they had to replace her and RS stepped down to make room for a real ED so he can stick to what he's good at, coaching and running programs. This has mostly already been stated in club emails. It's not a huge revelation.
